Calendar year 2011 has been a very productive year for the Department. Our Special Investigations Unit culminated a number of narcotic cases with significant arrests and seizures. We hired two full-time officers (one by grant) and are awaiting their entrance into the 14 week Police Academy. Promotional (Sergeant) exams are set for the last week in December and we are looking to fill three full-time officer openings from the established list.
The Department is in forward transition and 2012 promises to be an exciting time for many. We are all hoping for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement soon! Work to be completed in 2012 will be new officers in the Academy and Field Training, Training Area construction (range), and possible acquisition of Tasers.
