Part-Time School Crossing Guard

The Town of Plaistow, NH seeks applicants who are at least 21 years old, possess a High School Degree or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and has U.S. Citizenship.  

Position is for a part-time Crossing Guard at the Timberlane Regional High School for ten (10) hours per week/two (2) hours per day during the Timberlane Regional School District’s calendar year.  Job entails supervising and assisting students crossing the roads one hour before and one hour after school.  Must be able to understand and follow instructions.  Must be able to observe and control traffic and assist students crossing the roads in a safe manner.  Job requires standing for a maximum of two (2) hours per day in varying weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, wind, or precipitation as well as carry and raise a crossing sign.  Traffic control training will be provided.

Required to complete an extensive background investigation and medical examination.

Starting hourly rate is $13.30

Exciting opportunity awaits at the Plaistow Police Department’s Communication Center for a part-time Public Safety Dispatcher.  These frontline positions provide a valuable service to the public as the first contact for those calling police, fire, or emergency medical services. This position requires someone with strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, at times high stress environment, and the ability to work under a strict confidential setting.  Excellent writing and keyboarding skills are essential. This unique applicant must have the availability to work any shift within a 24 hour period, including some holidays and weekends.   

Applicants for this position must be at least 21 years old, have no criminal records, possess a High School Degree or equivalent (Associates Degree preferred), excellent writing and keyboard skills, be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment, valid driver’s license, transportation, and are a U.S. Citizen; Bi-lingual and experience is a plus.

Applicants are required to complete a dispatcher scenario based skill test, oral board, medical exam, drug screening, psychological and polygraph exams and extensive background investigation, including a criminal records check.  

Starting hourly rate is $14.55
