THIS MEANS NEW HAMPSHIRE AUTHORITIES CAN NOT LEAVE THE STATE TO EFFECT ARREST
For an out of state resident to be arrested on a NH Misdemeanor Warrant, NH Law Enforcement must:
ØRely on the subjects to “do the right thing” and turn themselves in. We try to contact them by telephone and mail.
ØWait for the wanted person to be arrested anywhere in NH.
ØWait for the wanted person to have police contact, which requires the L.E. Officer to check their name, ex: mv stop.
ØRely on the public to call the local NH Police Department where they know a wanted subject is residing, visiting, or passing through.
Please help us by contacting the Plaistow Police if you have information which could lead to the arrest of any of the following wanted subjects. You can always remain anonymous and remember, for every wanted person there is usually a victim.
So far posting photos of wanted people on the website has been a success. We have had inquiries from as far away as Florida from people asking to clear their warrant.
We have started posting felony warrants. Until a defendant is formally indicted by a Grand Jury, the warrant is ours and we try to track the defendant down for arrest. Sometimes extradition can be difficult due to the size of the department, but we have traveled to Vermont and Massachusetts to pick defendants up.
After the defendant is indicted by the Grand Jury, the case is bound over to Superior Court and the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department takes up where we left off trying to arrest the defendant. They have greater resources and can travel further to locate wanted persons.

PAINT BALL VANDALISM
Numerous homes along well traveled roads have been vandalized by paintballs. This sort of crime can be difficult to solve. We request residents to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles or observations immediately. With the assistance of the community, we may be able to prevent further damage or catch the vandals.
PROTECTING YOURSELF
When purchasing tools keep a log of serial numbers and carve your initials or name into the tools in a hidden area. This may assist law enforcement should the tools turn up missing.
PAWN SHOP/SECOND HAND DEALER EDUCATION
Many people do not know what rules govern the local Pawn Shops or “Second Hand Dealers.” In plain language: By Town Ordinance the Pawn Shops are required to take photo identification from the sellers. The identification is copied onto a “Second Hand Dealer Report” with the property description and price paid. These Second Hand Dealer Reports are turned over to the Police and logged by seller name, property sold, date, and Pawn Shop.
