Human Services

Mission Statement:

The Plaistow Human Services Department administers the Town’s general assistance program and serves as a resource for all residents seeking assistance with the essential provisions of life. New Hampshire’s local assistance program is outlined in RSA 165:1. The Human Service Department Staff assists individuals, families and households who lack adequate resources to meet their basic needs. We will facilitate finding resources and relief through federal, state or non-profit agencies,  etc.  The Human Services Coordinator will assess what must be done so that this person or family has shelter, heat, lights and food.  This is different from state and federal assistance programs that address long term issues.
