There will be a household hazardous waste collection day on Saturday, October, 28, 2017. It will be held in Kingston at the Old Sanborn High School at 179 Main Street. The hours are 9:00am - 12:00 noon. Proof of residency is required.  Acceptable items from a kitchen/bathroom include aerosol cans, bug sprays, floor care products, metal polish, furniture polish, oven, drain bathroom, & tile cleaners, & disinfectants. Acceptable garage/workshop items include old gasoline, gasoline/oil mixtures, brake fluid, auto repair products, transmission fluid, other oils/cleaners, oil based paint, paint thinner, paint stripper, varnish & antifreeze. Acceptable garden/miscellaneous items include chemical fertilizer, fungicides, herbicides, rat poison, artist's paints, fiberglass epoxy, gun cleaning solvents, moth balls, pool chemicals, photographic chemicals, florescent bulbs & batteries. UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS INCLUDE: latex paint, gas/propane cylinders, explosive materials, ammunition, radioactive materials, medical wastes, infectious & biological wastes, prescription medicines/syringes, smoke detectors, commercial wastes, fire extinguishers, unknown materials, computer monitors or equipment.
