PLAISTOW BOARD OF SELECTMEN APPROVE MUNICIPAL WATER CONNECTION INCENTIVE

The Board of Selectmen are pleased to announce that the Plaistow Municipal Water System is officially online and beginning to provide potable water to  residential and commercial properties in Plaistow.

At their August 29, 2022 meeting, the Board decided by a unanimous vote, to authorize up to a $5,000.00 credit towards the Plaistow System Development Charge for new water service connections.  In order to qualify, applications must be approved no later than December 31, 2022 and  water service connected by June 30, 2023.

The Plaistow Municipal Water Project is part of a the much larger Southern New Hampshire Regional Water Project that brings water from Manchester, through Derry, Windham, Salem, and communities served by Hampstead Area Water Company, to the Town of Plaistow.  The goal of the project was to provide clean, safe, reliable drinking water to properties that were impacted by MtBE contamination.

Those properties are being connected through a granted funded by the State’s MtBE Settlement Fund.  The up to $5,000.00 credit towards the Plaistow System Development Charge is to incentivize and assist other property owners, both commercial and residential,  within the town of Plaistow to also connect.

Application forms and connection/consumption fee information is available on the Water Department page of the Town’s Website www.plaistow.com/water-department.  

The Town is putting together an information night and will alert interested residents through our Website Email New Alert and through Facebook when that will be held.
