Potable Water Update

The potable water project is well underway. The Water Tank on Sweet Hill Road is coming along nicely and construction is about to begin on the extension of the water pipelines to connect the water tank into the system, as well as extending the pipelines to reach the parcels that have been identified by NH Department of Environmental Services as MtBE Impacted.

DeFelice Construction is the contractor who will be installing the additional pipe. You will see them mobilizing to a staging area on Hale Spring Road near Kingston Road.

Construction will start on Hale Spring Road and will work up Sweet Hill Road until they reach the water tank location near the top of the hill. The intent is to do as much as possible by only closing one lane at a time, but there will be times when there will need to be a complete closure.

PLEASE SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTES, THERE WILL MOST DEFINITELY BE DELAYS AND INTERMITTENT COMPLETE ROAD CLOSURES.

Construction will start the week of September 21, 2020. The contractor can install an average of 200-300 feet of pipe per day depending on the conditions that they find in the ground along the way. It's nearly impossible to tell you how far they will get and precisely when there will be a road closure a week in advance, but we will do our best to post updates to Facebook and the Town's Website as frequently as we have new information. The best way to cope with the frustration that roadway construction can bring is to seek alternate routes whenever possible.

We are not yet at the point of making individual water connections. Further updates about that will be forthcoming.
