Timberlane School District Announces Remote Learning Food Assistance
The Timberlane School District is pleased to announce a food service option for any of our students in need during the period of Remote Learning.
Beginning on Thursday, April 9, 2020, Timberlane Regional School District will begin offering its students in need bagged meals at one location in each town in the District. The program will run from 11:15 to noon each Monday and Thursday during Remote Learning at designated locations.
On Mondays, each bag will include breakfast and lunch for three days, and on Thursdays each bag will include breakfast and lunch for two days. There is no charge for students, and any student in need is welcome. Students are not required to be approved for free or reduced lunch through the District. This program will receive funding in part from the NH Dept. of Education which received a waiver from the USDA last week to allow participation by our Districts in this type of meal serving program.
Meals are being prepared in a central location and transported to one designated location in each town where the meals may be picked up at the times specified.Time: 11:15 to Noon each Monday and Thursday during Remote Learning Designated Locations: - Atkinson Academy, 17 Academy Avenue, Atkinson, NH 03811 - Danville Community Center, 169 Main Street, Danville, NH 03819 - TLC at Sandown Central, 295 Main Street, Sandown, NH 03873 - Pollard Elementary, 120 Main Street, Plaistow, NH 03865
During this time of pandemic, District staff will be practicing social distancing. A table will be set up outside each designated location and parents or students can pick up a bag with no direct contact with District staff at the designated times and locations specified.
Students of parents who responded affirmatively to the need for meal assistance by way of the district’s survey on Friday, April 1st are automatically added to the meal count, thus those parents may pick up meals at the location listed in their hometowns.
Parents who did not respond to the survey and wish to participate in this meal assistant program should call 603-382- 6119 ext 2255. Please leave a message that includes your student’s name, grade, school and hometown.
We are living in a time of uncertainty with regard to the timeframe in which we can expect to return to our pre-pandemic lives. This uncertainty comprises also of our concerns about the economy.
