What is a Building/Construction Plan?

A Building/Construction Plan (Plans) shows the details of how a structure will be built. Items such as, but not limited to, framing, size of rafters, Insulation R-Factor and/or floor supports/joist should be called out in a cross-sectional diagram. In some cases, such as smaller projects, a complete materials list can be submitted. However, we reserve the right, particularly if we feel there is a safety issue, to request a cross-sectional drawing. In many cases Plans do not require an architect stamp and can be hand-drawn. Exceptions would be for commercial applicants.
